Empire State of Mind

So as you know I made my way to New York yesterday with my roommate Danielle! We left at 1am and the bus was totally full. A gentleman moved his seat to allow Danielle and I to sit together which was so sweet!! I had a pretty difficult time sleeping on the bus so when we arrived in the city at 5am we both were needing some coffee. Thank goodness for Starbucks!

It was still dark when we got there! 

We had decided we were going to try and go to the Live with Kelly show, seeing as she is one of our favorites, so thats where we headed first. We ended up being first in the standing line and made our cold little selves into the studio! It was so much fun being there and only made us love Kelly Ripa even more!!

We then walked all the way over to Madison ave. to visit the Lilly Pulitzer store!! This store was beautiful and the service was fantastic! I had been wearing a Lilly scarf and a pair of Lilly croakies so the woman working there thought Danielle and I were from corporate. We told her we only wish :)! Definitely recommend making a visit there!

We ate and shopped for a little while longer until we both hit a wall! We were so tired from not getting any sleep so we snuck onto an earlier bus and luckily got home much earlier!

Update!

Sorry for my lack of blogging yesterday, it was just one of those Mondays. I seriously could not do anything right. I went to work for a few hours then came straight home to take a nap. I felt a little more refreshed and went to dinner and froyo with an old friend. It was great to catchup and we had some great conversation!

 Today I've spent the entire day at my townhouse at school. School starts back up next week so I wanted to come get things organized and cleaned up before moving back in. I decided to pack up most of my clothes and bring them over so I wouldn't have to do it Sunday night. I feel way more prepared for school now that this daunting task has been completed!

It was gorgeous here today!

Tonight I will be spending the night here with my roommate Danielle because we will be waking up at 1am to get our butts to New York for the day!

Friday Favs!!

This Friday some of my favorite things are...

1. Quick and easy hairstyles! On Thursday I picked my parents up from the airport and needed to quickly pull something together. I put my hair in a pony tail then quickly braided it! I have seen Kourtney Kardashian do her hair like that occasionally and loved how it looked on her. Mine obviously didn't look as good as hers!! Do you have any quick hairstyles I could do for my long hair?!

2. My new Kate Spade Iphone case! I got a clear case for christmas that I LOVE but I also wanted a fun one too! I love Lilly Pulitzer phone cases but when I saw the Kate spade one I fell in love. On the inside it says "Live Colorfully".

3. Purple Friday's! This is a tradition in Baltimore where everyone gets decked out in their Raven's gear on Friday before a game weekend! It's a great way to start the weekend and share our pride. The players that live in the area love to see it too. This will be the first time my boss is allowing us to wear our jerseys to work and I'm so so so excited!!

Sweet Eats!

Okay so Valentine's Day is creeping upon us, whether we like it or not, so why not celebrate?! And what better way to celebrate than to make yummy treats (benefit of being single: more for me!!)?! Yesterday I made a quick and easy treat out of pretzels, hershey kisses, and m&m's!

My grocery store luckily had the Valentine's Day section already out so I snagged a bag of Valentine's m&ms. Other than that all I had to buy was Hershey Hugs since I like white chocolate better (two bags if you are like me and eat every other one while making these) and a bag of regular pretzels.

1. First I set the oven to 170 degrees F!

2. Lay down tinfoil on a cookie sheet. Carefully place pretzels down one by one.

3. Unwrap the Hershey Kisses (or hugs, whichever you prefer). Place one unwrapped Hershey Kiss on each pretzel.

4. Place the tray in the oven for a couple of minutes. It literally only takes a few minutes (mine took about 3 1/2 minutes) so watch them carefully.

5. Once they are slightly melted take them out of the oven and place one m&m on top of each Kiss.

6. Place them in the fridge to cool for about 10 minutes and you are done!!

So cute and EASY right?! You can place them in little baggies and tie a pink ribbon around them and give them as Valentines Day gifts! Have you ever made these before?! 

What I'm lovin'!!

Today is Wednesday so it is time for What I'm Loving Wednesday! 

1. Evolution Orange Juice. It is SO delicious and completely natural. As I said in a previous post I am really trying harder to read labels of what I'm consuming. The only ingredient in this is orange juice, no added sugars, and no preservatives. It is simply delicious!!

2. The fact that in 3 short days I will be taking a road trip with one of my best guy friends to visit my best friend at JMU!!!

3. Burt's Bees deep cleansing cream! I love love love this stuff. Not only is it all natural BUT it works great and smells good as well! My mom used it for a while but found something she liked better so she gave me the rest of hers and since then I've been hooked. I like that it is all natural but still a good price for a college student!!

4. Mini Diva Bangle from Lilly Pulitzer! This will be a perfect addition to my stack and will be one of my next purchases!!

Rainy Day Blues

I went to sleep last night to the sound of rain and woke up to rain again this morning. This means this girl will not be getting out of bed much today! I luckily have no work today so I can afford to be lazy allll day! 

So dreary looking! 

Yesterday I went to work for a few hours only to come home exhausted. I found my favorite spot on the couch and that's where I parked myself for the rest of the night! I took a nap to the movie Switching Goals...you know the one with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

I then moved on to watch Gossip Girl! Was anyone else just as confused as I was?! My best friend luckily was able to cue me in! Over break I was able to watch all the seasons of GG on Netflix and I really got into it. After GG, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills came on! 

It was definitely a TV night last night! Does anyone else watch Gossip Girl or RHOBH?! 

Tiffany Blue and an Orange Hue!

So as you all probably know, the Ravens had a rough win yesterday but the boys did pull through! We will now be moving on to play the Patriots next weekend, which is definitely going to be a tough one!
