Why yes, I do spend my saturday nights scrapbooking things I find in magazines that I like. My mom gets all of the home magazines like Home and Garden and Beautiful House and they never fail to amaze me. They give me so much inspiration and hopes of what my house will someday look like. (side note: I am a hoarder with magazines and save them all.)

I have always loved scrapbooking and I currently have two scrap books going. One is just a life scrap book with pictures of friends and family but this new one I started is combining all the things I love and inspire me into one book. I want to be able to look back at it and use it when I start my first home, or when I look for wedding dresses and also be able to show my kids one day! I cut out pictures of rooms, flowers, dresses, people, nature, just everything that I love.

Here's a sneak peak! (sorry for the bad quality pictures, I don't have good lighting in my room)

Does anyone else enjoy scrapbooking as much as I do?!

I'm back!

I've been slacking on posting lately. Unfortunately, I've been sick these past couple of days and not wanting to take off work even with being sick I have come home just exhausted. Luckily I have today and the next three days off work to rest up and celebrate memorial day weekend!

Today I slept in forever; with being sick I haven't got much sleep, so it was great being able to catch up on my beauty sleep! I went to the bank and then went to what we call "The Avenue" to shop for my dads birthday. I spent the rest of the day doing laundry (ugh) and getting rid of clothes I no longer wear to give to Goodwill. I may have even snuck in a little nap while watching Say Yes to The Dress with my momma this evening too!

This weekend is pretty busy for me. My sister and her husband, along with their three, yes I did just say three, dogs (that makes 5 dogs residing in our house this weekend) are coming home for the weekend! On Sunday I plan on going with my sister to look at apartments (SHES MOVING BACK TO MD!!!!!) and then my family is celebrating my daddy's birthday! I'm not sure what we are doing for Memorial Day but I am positive it involves a cookout.

I have recently been stalking reading a lot of different Tumblrs, and let me tell you I have become #obsessed. One in particular really stood out to me, its called The Rules. It is basically rules that every southern woman should live by, and I love love love every rule posted. This rule is quite possibly my favorite one because of how true it really is.

No one likes someone who thinks they are going to be more liked by being mean to someone! :)
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Shout-out to Preakness!

As many of you may know yesterday was Preakness, sadly I was working and couldn't attend, but congrats to Shackleford for the big win!! Preakness is a huge deal here in Maryland, that is all anyone could talk about yesterday (and maybe the fact that the world was supposed to end?). Preakness is held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, only about twenty-five minutes from my house.

Sadly, there has been some talk lately about shutting it down to create a shopping center. I find it quite unfortunate that something so historical like Pimlico that brings so much money and people into Baltimore would be destroyed for shopping! I hope and pray this does not happen because I just cannot wait to have kids and dress them up in their lilly outfits to attend Preakness. I really do love Maryland and all of our traditions!

I work as a hostess at a local family owned and operated restaurant. We sell the BEST cakes ever and we ship them in from a bakery called sugar bakers located about twenty minutes away from my work. I sometimes will buy slices to bring home to my parents they love hate me for it, but I feel too guilty only buying one for myself! One of the cakes we sell is called the pimlico cake; its yellow cake with chocolate icing and a boston creme filling. It is absolutely delicious. Well in leu of it being Preakness yesterday, I only thought it would be appropriate to have a slice!

Hope you all watched the Preakness!! Enjoy your Sunday!

So I haven't had that much of an eventful weekend. I worked on Friday and will be working again tonight, fun I know. I did, however, get to see my friends that I haven't seen in a while since everyone is back from college! My parents come back from their trip to Israel tomorrow, I will be picking them up as soon as they arrive and can't wait to here all about it!

last summer:

dBm, me, mHl, and dLb!

.......1 year later:

dLb, mHl, dBm, me!

I can't believe we're all done our freshman year of college, it's actually crazy to think about! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hello Sophomore Year!

My last two, and only two, finals are over with!! This year has probably been one of the toughest years for me, by far. I managed to get a 4.0 my first semester of college (praying this semester was just as good), transferred schools, got a job, got into the school I wanted to, and made new friends. Its been a huge transition for me to go through and along the way I grew and matured into a stronger person. None of this was easy for me but I managed to get through it and now it is officially summer, thank goodness!

I have learned so much throughout my freshman year of college; heres just some of what I've learned.

1. You really will change your mind a million times. Whether it is the school you go to, your major, or your friends, it is completely normal to not know what you want.
2. You might not want to admit it but you really will miss your family so make sure you keep in touch with them because trust me they miss you too. It is a huge transition for parents to go through when their child goes off to college, just as it is for you.
3. Partying is fun, yes, but it isn't what college is all about. Maybe you were the partying type during high school because you thought it would make you more popular. The fact that you did a keg stand at the frat house on friday night or ran the beer pong table isn't going to make you anymore popular in college, so don't waste your time trying to be the life of the party.
4. Find something you enjoy and do it. Between club sports, volunteer work, and greek life there is so much to choose from at college and it's a great way to meet new people. Joining something you like will allow you to meet and connect with people who have similar interests as you. This is a great idea if you are having trouble finding your group of friends at college.
5. Study, study, study!! I can't say this enough, it is vital for your success in college. I think I just never really knew how to study in high school but when I got to college I realized that 75% of my grade was made up of my test scores. It was either study or fail, so I chose to study but first I had to learn how to actually study. I tried different ways of taking notes, going over my notes, and reading the textbook until I was able to come up with something that worked for me. If you are having similar problems I definitely suggest testing out different ways of studying until you find something that works.
6. Be who you are. I know my high school was very cliquey and that tends to make people act a certain way. College is about growing into the person you want to be, so don't fall into the trap of being who others expect you to be.
7. Lastly, you will lose touch with some of your friends from high school. Yes, this is extremely sad but also completely normal. After high school people go separate paths and the path you take may not always be the same as your friends. The people that are important to you and meant to be in your life will always be there. This is one of the most important lessons I learned this year; I have lost some friends, became closer with others, and even made new friends.

What were some of the lessons you learned in college?

Ps. My sister recently started a business making preppy dog collars and leashes and I am SO excited for her, love you sissy. Check out her facebook page where you can order your collar or leash today! You can also find her on:

Rain, Rain Go Away!

I know its only Wednesday but it has rained everyday this week in Baltimore. Not only that but it has been a little on the cold side! I normally have no problem with rain except for this year I have been hit hard with the worst allergies and it seems as if every time it rains they get worse. So of course this week I have felt miserable and have locked myself indoors for the time being. But with spring comes rain, so it is going to be expected. So here are some things you might want to keep you dry!

The North Face Venture Jacket
Personally, I own this jacket in white and absolutely love it. It is light weight which is perfect for summer because you don't want anything to heavy but it also does its job and keeps the rain out. I have owned a few rain jackets before and none of them really kept the water out as well as this, plus I love love love it in this green color.
Hunter Wellies
These might be the most adorable rain boots out there. They are a little on the pricey side but they are a classic and will never go out of style. I have had my eye on a black pair for quite some time, maybe the rain this week will motivate me to buy a pair!
Vera Bradley Umbrella
First of all can I just say I adore this pattern. I have a tote in this print and then I also have a duffle in this print but in the blue version and I always get so many compliments on it. The umbrella itself is small and can be stowed away in your car in case a spring shower suddenly pops up on you; it is even small enough to fit in your purse! Can you say perfect?

Have a great day, stay dry!
